As of April 6, 2026, Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) becomes a day-one right, meaning employees are entitled to sick pay from the first day of absence.
Ubeya supports this change by allowing you to accurately track and report sickness across shifts.
How to mark an employee as sick
When managing shifts, you can indicate sickness directly from the event:
Go to the Event page
Open the Unbooked tab
Locate the relevant employee
Select Sick leave as the reason for unbooking
This ensures the absence is clearly recorded as sickness.
View sickness data in reports
To monitor sickness across your workforce:
Go to Reports
Open the Sickness Tracking Report
This report shows all workers marked as sick during your selected reporting period.
What the Sickness Tracking Report includes
The report provides detailed visibility for each sick instance, including:
When the worker was unbooked
Who unbooked them
When they were marked as sick
This helps you maintain accurate records and supports compliance with SSP
requirements.
Best practices
Always select “Sick leave” when unbooking due to illness
Review the Sickness Tracking Report regularly to ensure accuracy
Use timestamps to audit and validate sick leave entries
