If you’ve been assigned as a Captain, it means you are trusted to act as the on-site manager during a shift or event. As a Captain, you’ll have extra responsibilities and permissions in the Ubeya app to help manage your team effectively.

What can a Captain do?

Captains can take on a variety of tasks directly in the app, including:

  • Checking workers in and out

  • Clocking workers in and out (depending on admin permissions)

  • Editing shift start and end times (depending on admin permissions)

  • Leaving payroll notes for workers

  • Rating and reviewing worker performance

  • Providing event-related feedback

Captain roles

There are three types of Captains that you can be assigned to:

Shift Captain

  • Responsible for all workers in a specific shift

Area Captain

  • Oversees all shifts and workers in a specific area of an event

  • Multiple areas can be assigned to the same Captain

Event Captain

  • In charge of all workers in an entire event, across all shifts and areas

Manage Shift

On the shift page, you’ll find the Manage Shift button. This gives you access to report on and review the employees under your supervision.

When acting as a Captain, you may need to scan or present employees’ QR codes to clock them in or out, or to check them in and out of the shift. This ensures accurate tracking of attendance and shift times.
