Product Updates - March 2026

Updated this week

March brought a wave of new improvements aimed at making shift management simpler, smarter, and more flexible. With these updates, both managers and employees gain greater control when managing shifts and scheduling.

Shift Tasks Updates

  1. Shift Tasks Run Per Shift

In multi-day events, employees now complete Shift Tasks separately for each shift. Completing a task for one shift will no longer mark it as completed for another.

    What’s changed:

    • Shift Tasks now appear separately for each shift

    • Employees receive a notification for each shift

    • Completing a Shift Task for one shift does not complete it for future shifts

This helps ensure the right task information is captured for each shift.

  2. “Employees Only” Option

Admins can now choose to make certain Shift Tasks fillable only by employees. When creating or editing a Shift Task, you can select Employees under Who can fill this task.

    When this option is selected:

    • The task is visible only to the employee assigned to the shift

    • Captains cannot view or complete the task

    • The task does not appear as an option when assigning a Task Captain

  3. Payroll Fields in Shift Tasks

You can now include Payroll Fields directly inside a Shift Task. This allows payroll-related information to be collected as part of the task completion process.

Payroll fields are added during Shift Task creation under the Input fields section and use the same field definitions configured in your payroll settings.

    Key behavior:

    • Internal employees can fill in payroll fields when completing the task

    • Captains can also fill in payroll fields when completing tasks on behalf of employees

    • External employees will see payroll fields but cannot edit them

If a payroll field is marked as required, it must be completed before the task can be submitted.

  4. Task Notifications for Employees

You can now notify employees to complete a Shift Task using scheduled push notifications.

When setting up a Shift Task, you can define when the notification should be sent, for example, a set number of minutes before or after the shift start time.

Employees will receive a push notification reminding them to complete the task.

  5. Required Shift Tasks for Employees

When a required Shift Task is assigned, employees must complete it before finishing their shift. If multiple required tasks exist, they will be presented one after another until all tasks are completed.

    How Required Tasks Affect Clock-Out

What happens next depends on how clock-out is configured for the shift:

    • Direct clock-out: the employee is clocked out only after completing all required tasks

    • Manager QR scan: the employee must first complete the required task or tasks, and is then redirected to the QR scan screen to finish clock-out

Scheduling Board: Employee and Shift Filters in ״Group by Employee״ View

These improvements reduce clutter and make it easier to focus on the right employees and shifts during scheduling.

What’s new:

  • Shift filters now let you control which shifts appear on the board

  • Employee filters let you narrow down which employees are shown

  • A filter counter shows how many filters are currently applied

  • Active filters appear in a dedicated row and can be removed individually

Detailed Forecast Report: Select Columns for Export

You can now choose which columns to include when exporting the Detailed Forecast Report.

When clicking Calculate in the report, a column selection window opens before the export is generated. From there, you can select exactly which data to include in your file.

This includes:

  • All existing report columns

  • Employee profile fields as additional columns

Each selected profile field will appear as a column in the export. If no value exists for a field, the cell will remain empty.

Show Employee ID in the Crew App

If you’d like to share the Employee ID with your employees, you can now do so from Settings → Employees → Employee Fields.

When this setting is enabled, employees can view their Employee ID in My Info in the Crew App. The Employee ID is displayed in read-only mode and cannot be edited or removed by employees.

Please note: Employee ID is displayed in read-only mode and cannot be edited or removed by employees.

Live View: Late Summary Column

A new Late column is now available in Timesheets → Live View.

This column shows the total number of employees who were marked as late, making it easier to review attendance at a glance.

We’ll be back next month with more updates and improvements. Stay tuned!
