What is Offline Mode?

Ubeya automatically enters offline mode when the network is limited or unavailable. The app enables users to clock in and out or scan the QR code, updating that information when the connection is restored.

For Offline Mode to work, employees need to open the shift page at least once while connected to the internet. This allows the app to load the shift details in advance. Please note that if the shift page was not opened beforehand, offline clock-in will not be available.

How this works

1. Clocking in offline

Employees can clock in as usual when they are offline.

  • A banner indicates that the app is offline

  • The clock-in is saved on the device

  • Employees will still see a confirmation that they clocked in successfully.

2. Offline scanning for captains

Captains can continue scanning employee QR codes without an internet connection. These scans are saved on the device and sync automatically once the device reconnects.

3. During the shift

While offline, employees can:

  • Track time

  • Start and end breaks

  • View basic shift details

4. When the internet connection is restored

Once the device reconnects to the internet, all saved actions sync automatically and timesheets are updated accordingly, and admins will see these updates on their end.
