We’re introducing major updates to improve accuracy and flexibility in Time & Attendance (T&A) tracking — making it easier to ensure precise shift tracking, prevent late clock-ins, and give you better timesheet control.
1. The consistency you have been looking for!
We’ve added a smarter way to check employee availability — now you can filter by Worked in Shift Location Before, making it faster to find experienced staff for the right shifts.
2. Empower Your Captains Like Never Before!
We’ve added new settings that give you more flexibility in auditing captain reporting timesheets capabilities. These controls can be configured at the branch level for better oversight.
A. Captains Can Report Their Own Timesheets:
A new toggle under Settings → Scheduling & Timesheet → Timesheet → Employee app T&A allows admins to manage this capability:
When the toggle is ON: Captains can report their own timesheets.
When the toggle is OFF: Captains cannot report their own timesheets (default behavior remains).
B. More Granular Captain Permissions:
We’re introducing two additional toggles for even more flexibility:
i. Allow Captains to Manually Edit Timestamps (All Captain Types).
When the toggle is ON:
*Captains can manually adjust timestamps for shifts they manage.
*A pencil icon appears on the shift screen, allowing edits.
When the toggle is OFF:
*Captains cannot edit timestamps manually.
*Captains can still add the current time as a timestamp.
ii. Enable Shift & Area Captains to Report Clock-In/Out
(This is already ON by default for Event Captains, controllable for shift and area captains)
When the toggle is ON:
Shift and Area Captains can report clock-in and clock-out times.
When the toggle is OFF:
Shift and Area Captains can only report Check-in and Check-out, not clock-in/out.
3. Perfect Timing: No More Late Clock-ins!
A new setting allows you to block employees from clocking in after a defined number of minutes past their shift start time.
How to Enable:
*Navigate to Settings → Scheduling & Timesheet → Timesheet
*Set "Employees can clock in [ X ] minutes after shift starts"
What Happens If an Employee Tries to Clock In Late? If an employee attempts to clock in after the allowed time, they will see the message: “Oops… Your shift started [X] minutes ago".
This limitation applies to the following T&A methods:
* Direct clock-in (employee clicks "Clock In")
* Employee scans QR code
All captains can clock employees in regardless of the time limitation using the Captain scans QR Code method.
4. Ensure Accurate Clock-Ins for Overbooked Shifts
To ensure better shift control, employees scheduled on overbooked shifts can no longer clock in or out on their own.
Clock-ins/outs must now be handled either:
- By a Captain in the Manage Shift screen
- By an Admin through the Web platform
This helps maintain accurate shift coverage and prevents scheduling conflicts.
These updates are now live!
Make sure to update your settings if you want to take advantage of these new controls!
